Orthopaedic Podiatry
When the foot needs support, the solution starts with understanding it.
Orthopaedics is the speciality that seeks to correct biomechanical alterations of the foot and lower limbs without surgery, through personalised plantar supports.
The aim is not only to pain relief, but treating the cause of the problem.
How works
The imbalance
The foot is the base of the body's kinetic chain. When the plantar arch does not distribute the loads properly, this imbalance does not stay in the foot: it moves up through the ankle, knee, hip and spine.
Compensation
Over time, these compensations generate tension and pain in areas that, at first glance, seem to have nothing to do with the foot: ankle, knee, hip, back and neck.
The solution
A well-designed plantar support corrects this distribution, restores balance to the stride and releases accumulated tension in the rest of the body.

Full assessment
LEARN MORE
Before making any plantar support, Mirja carries out a complete assessment of the patient: history, habits, footwear and objectives of each person.
BIOMECHANICAL ASSESSMENT
LEARN MORE
Each insole is designed based on the results of the biomechanical study, adapted to the specific anatomy and activity of each patient.

There are no standard insoles because there are no standard feet. Each plantar support is unique, just like the person who wears it.

For whom?
Orthopaedic insoles are useful in many different situations. This is what Mirja deals with on a regular basis:
Children
During growth, a disturbance in the footprint can have long-term consequences. Acting early, while the foot is still forming, makes all the difference.
Athletes
Chronic injuries in many athletes are caused by an untreated biomechanical problem. The sports insole is adapted to the type of sport, the level of training and the terrain: running on asphalt is not the same as playing paddle tennis or hiking.
Flat feet and pes cavus
Two different alterations, same need: a support that protects the plantar arch and avoids overloading the forefoot.
Valgus foot
Frequent in athletes, it requires support to restore the plantar arch and stabilise the rearfoot.
For the summer
The heat is no excuse for neglecting your feet. Mirja works with custom-made orthopaedic sandals - the Flopthotics - so that the hot months don't take their toll.
The process
How they are made
Always on the basis of a prior biomechanical study. Without this diagnosis it is not possible to design a support that really works.
Mirja uses the necessary technology and equipment to ensure that the result is precisely matched to each patient's anatomy, activity and footwear.

The benefit
What they contribute
Greater stability when walking, less fatigue when standing, better shock absorption, relief of overloaded areas and, in many cases, the disappearance of pain that had gone unresolved for months or years.
