Surgery Podiatry
When conservative treatment is not sufficient, surgery is the solution.
There are foot problems that do not respond to insoles or external care. For these cases, there is podiatric surgery: an intervention
with recovery designed to get you back to work as quickly as possible.
Mirja is specialised in nail, digital and hallux valgus surgery, with specific training in the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and the King Juan Carlos University.
What it is about
Pathologies with surgical solution
Ingrown toenails (onychocryptosis)
The nail digs into the skin causing pain, inflammation and recurrent infection. The surgical technique with phenol solves the problem definitively: the nail stops digging in and grows back in a healthy and aesthetic way.
Bunions (hallux valgus)
The joint at the base of the big toe is deviated and protrudes, causing pain and difficulty in walking. Surgery corrects the deformity and restores correct alignment to the foot.
Claw toes
Poor biomechanics over time leads to progressive hyperflexion of the toes. Surgery corrects the deformity when there is no turning back with conservative treatment.
Morton's neuroma
Recurrent severe pain in the toe area caused by inflammation of a nerve. When plantar supports are not sufficient, surgery offers a solution.
What is the process
The goal is always a fast, comfortable post-operative period with minimal interference in everyday life. Mirja accompanies the patient throughout the entire process: from diagnosis to recovery.
